In conjunction with Hughes County, the South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT) will hold an online public meeting to receive public input for finalizing the Hughes County Master Transportation Plan on the dates listed below.
January 13, 2021, through February 14, 2021
Due to limitations on public gatherings recommended by the Centers for Disease Control, the SDDOT is posting information on the project's website rather than presenting documents at an in-person public meeting. Members of the public may submit questions or comments about the project online through the website or by contacting study representatives listed
below.
Objectives of the Master Transportation Plan include:
• Building a list of transportation issues and needs for Hughes County.
• Developing solutions to potential transportation challenges that will support traffic service expectations currently and up to 20 years in the future that meet current design standards. The solutions will also help Hughes County remain a livable community while enhancing economic and social well-being.
• Creating final products, including a master transportation plan document, that will guide implementation of planned improvements and react to future development plans in the study area.
Any individuals with disabilities who will require a reasonable accommodation to view the project website should submit a request to the SDDOT ADA Coordinator at 605-773-3540 or 1-800-877-1113 (Telecommunication Relay Services for the Deaf).
Questions and comments regarding the project may be directed to Steve Gramm at (605) 773-6641 (
steve.gramm@state.sd.us) or Ben White at (605) 221-2651 (
bwhite@hrgreen.com).
Comments will be accepted until February 14, 2021, and can be submitted online through the project website or directly to one of the project representatives.
